The majority of fire deaths that occur in residential occupancies are caused by smoke inhalation, so it's important that citizens have the early warning a smoke detector can provide. The Ponce Inlet Fire Rescue Department encourages all citizens to install and maintain approved smoke detection devices on each floor level of their residence.
Ponce Inlet Fire Rescue offers a smoke detector program that is designed to install smoke detection devices in the homes of citizens in Ponce Inlet who do not currently have one. If you live in Ponce Inlet and do not have a smoke detector you are eligible to receive a free one.
After your initial request, you will be contacted to arrange a time to install the smoke detector. To request a free smoke detector installation, please complete the below form or contact the Ponce Inlet Fire Prevention Division at (386) 322-6713 x333, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.
