Current Board & Volunteer Vacancies

The following volunteer board positions are available as of January 11, 2012:

·       Historic and Archaeological Preservation Board: 1 regular seat, 2 alternate seats - meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 10:00 a.m. (as necessary);

·       Parks, Recreation & Tree Board: 1 regular seat, 2 alternate seats - meetings are held on the fourth Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. (as necessary);

·       Code Enforcement Board: 2 alternate seats - meetings are held on the fourth Monday of the month at 9:30 a.m.

·       Land Acquisition Advisory Committee: 2 regular seats - evening meetings are held as determined by Committee members.

·        Accession Committee: The Town of Ponce Inlet is currently accepting applications for appointment to the newly created "Accession Committee".  This committee will be tasked with formally identifying specific exhibit themes and acquiring, reviewing and approving collection items for display in the Ponce Inlet Historical Museum.  

The Committee will consist of three members, appointed by Town Council, to serve for a period of two years beginning in February 2012. Preference will be given to candidates who possess knowledge/skills relative to the accession of historic property.

·       Citizens’ Advisory Committee (CAC) to the Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) of Volusia County.
The Town of Ponce Inlet currently has a vacancy for a member on the CAC.~ The CAC is responsible for providing citizen input and provide recommendations to the TPO concerning transportation planning and programming; for review of all transportation studies, reports, and plans and/or programs; and for making recommendations to the TPO that are pertinent to the subject document.~ Subcommittees, Task Forces and Working Groups shall be designated by the CAC as necessary to investigate and report on specific subject areas of interest to the CAC.

·       Historical Museum: Volunteers are needed to serve at the museum. Training is provided. Applications are available at the museum (Mon-Fri, 10am-2pm) or at the Town Hall.

        Please remember:  You must be a resident and a registered voter in the Town of Ponce Inlet to serve on any of the above boards.
