CAUTION SUGGESTED NEAR RACCOONS

Attention Ponce Inlet residents and businesses: As you may be aware, there have been some recent incidents with rabid/suspected rabid raccoons in the area. We ask that you remember for your family’s safety and that of your pets and neighbors to please exercise caution by not leaving food outside for pets or wildlife. It should be noted that there have been three suspected incidents south of Dunlawton on the beachside, with one occurring in the Town of Ponce Inlet. One of the animals from Wilbur by the Sea tested positive for Rabies; however, the other two have not been confirmed as being rabid.
Please remain alert for any unusual behavior by these animals. If you do see an animal that appears to be acting strangely, please contact the Ponce Inlet Police Department at 386-236-2160.
