	Vacancy on the Volusia Growth Management Commission The Town of Ponce Inlet has a vacancy for a representative on the Volusia Growth Management Commission. The Volusia Growth Management Commission was created by the Volusia County Charter. The commission’s primary duty is to determine the consistency of the municipalities’ and the County’s comprehensive plans and any amendments thereto with each other. The commission consists of 21 voting members which includes one appointee from each municipality within the County, and five appointees from unincorporated Volusia County. In addition, the Volusia County School Board and the St. Johns River Water Management District each designate a nonvoting member who serves on the commission. Members must be a resident of the jurisdiction for which they are appointed. Member terms are for three years unless filling a vacancy, in which case the member would serve for the remainder of the unexpired term. The Town’s current term is from July 1, 2011 – June 30, 2014. The commission generally meets on the 4^th Wednesday of each month beginning at 7:00 p.m. The meeting locations are generally alternated between the City of Daytona Beach Commission Chambers and the County Council Chambers in DeLand. Interested residents should complete a Town board application form and submit to Town Hall.
