Kay & Ayres Davies Lighthouse Park
4931 South Peninsula Drive
Situated under the shadow of the historic Ponce DeLeon Light Station, this park was named in honor of our first Mayor and his wife, both of whom worked hard to establish the Town of Ponce Inlet. Ayres was instrumental in acquiring the Lighthouse and its surrounding buildings for the Town and continued to volunteer there until his death.
This three-acre park has swings, a slide and a climber and is ideal for picnics and relaxing after climbing the steps of the Lighthouse. New playground equipment will be added in the spring of 2009. The Mary Keller Bird Rehabilitation Center, Marine Science Center and Lighthouse Point Park are a short walk away. There is a public boat ramp here, with limited parking available.
The Town sponsored Fine Art Festival and Corvette Show are held here each spring, and our Children’s Activity Committee holds their annual Easter and Halloween parties in this park. The first Market in the Park, a holiday event including an arts and crafts show, visits with Santa and an outdoor movie, was held here in December 2008.
