Since 1998 I have had the privilege of serving as the Chief of Police for the Town of Ponce Inlet. Prior to that time I spent over twenty years as a member of the Daytona Beach Police Department, where I served in every division, finally retiring as a Deputy Commander.
I grew up in central Florida and have spent my entire law enforcement career right here in Volusia County. I attended Daytona Beach Community College and went on to the University of Central Florida where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
Having served as the President of the Volusia-Flagler Police Chief’s Association, I have had the opportunity to work with all of the other law enforcement agencies in our area. I am pleased to report that we support and assist each other in our effort to provide the highest caliber of service to our respective communities.
During the time that I have been Chief, our Department has put forth a great deal of effort to improve the quality of service that our residents and visitors expect and deserve. While our primary role is that of law enforcement, we put a high priority on service to the community. From our Ponce Partners program, which provides well being checks to the elderly or those who live alone, to our Police Athletic League, which was established to organize structured activities for our children, our goal is to maintain a safe environment for those who call Ponce Inlet home.
We are a full service, full time Police Department, who I am proud to say became fully accredited and nationally recognized during the summer of 2005. Each of our eighteen employees is dedicated solely to the Town of Ponce Inlet. Our Officers, Dispatchers and Administrative staff serve with distinction every day and I am proud to represent them as their Chief.
