Patrol: is generally the first contact citizens have with Department officers responding to resident’s requests for assistance, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All officers have completed extensive training in order to perform their duties. Routine, emergency and in-progress calls are handled on a daily basis, other duties include traffic law enforcement, transporting prisoners, in-service training, court, business and residential checks and Community Policing.
Bicycle Patrol: is designed to be an effective tool toward community orientated policing and the continuing efforts to better public relations. The Department has two Trek bicycles outfitted with emergency equipment, six of the Department sworn personnel have been committed to additional training for this assignment
Motorcycle Patrol: consists of two trained officers who are committed to assisting in planning, analyzing, monitoring, implementing and coordinating the Department’s traffic related duties. The Harley Davidson Road King is used on a daily basis, weather permitting.
