Mission
The Cultural Services, Historic Preservation, and Tree Advisory Board was created by the Town Council to further its goals of recognizing, protecting and enhancing historic properties, protecting native trees and vegetation, and provide quality recreational opportunities to the community. The Board's work includes the inventorying and surveying of historic buildings, areas and archaeological sites and the planning for their preservation; recommending landmarks and landmark sites within the Town to be placed on the local or national historic registry; and investigating, reviewing, and making recommendations regarding current and potential future parks and recreational areas and facilities. The Board also has review authority over the demolition or major remodeling of structures 50 years of age or older (if the building is determined to have historical significance), over activities that would disturb archaeological sites which are known to have archaeological resources, and certain applications for specimen tree removal and landscape plans associated with development permits or development orders. As governed by Section 6.2.3 and 4.10 of the Land Use and Development Code.
